The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a challenging situation infront of Mental healthcare service providers in India. Due to shortage of trained mental health professionals, Mental Health GAP exists between the professionals and beneficiaries. IMHRC has been a front-runner in the Mental healthcare sector and has been providing treatment, psychosocial and rehabilitative support to the individuals suffering from mental health problems. IMHRC has always taken a lead in addressing the psychosocial needs of individuals across various groups and has adopted diverse strategies and solutions to address these needs. This COVID-19 Mental Health Support Programme is one such step taken in the direction of mental health work.
COVID-19 Mental Health Support Programme is a pioneering and an empowering mental health project started by IMHRC in collaboration with Tauheedul Muslimeen Trust (TMT) and supported by AATMAN and it endeavours to provide professional and free counseling through technology assisted mediums such as, video and tele Counselling sessions to anyone in need of emotional support, irrespective of age, gender, sexual orientation or race, and transcending geographical distances while ensuring confidentiality and ethical practices.
